2D Drawings

The CADFind master can automatically extract the geometry of each view from the drawing providing some simple conditions are met, for example layer conventions must be used to ensure the geometry is separated from dimensions, title blocks and other ancillary material. Drawing conventions can easily be set to meet these requirements in future (they simply represent good practice) but if you have a large number of existing drawings that fail to meet this standard then we can offer a bureau service to code them for you.

3D parts

AST can also code all of your existing 3D models and set up a repository of parts.

This service also includes tailoring of the codes used to best match the characteristics of your parts.

The Bureau Process

You can send us your drawings either by email or post (on a CD or DVD). If you need us to convert them from DWG to DXF format then we can do so (at a small extra charge).

We will tailor the code to the parts that are to be added to each catalogue, test for acceptable retrieval performance and then return the completed catalogue to you by post or email. You can then add new parts to the catalogue using the Master version of CADFind. Alternatively you could use our bureau service to maintain your catalogues and use the free Client version for normal day-to-day retrieval.

We charge a small fixed set-up plus a charge for each drawing coded. The fee per part depends on the number to be coded:

So for example 500 drawings would cost $825 whereas 5000 drawings would be charged at $3200. These prices assume typical engineering drawings and we reserve the right to quote at a higher rate for very large or complex drawings. Similarly these rates assume each drawing relates to a single part and we would be happy to quote for any other non-standard arrangements.
